Redialing When the Line is Busy There are two methods of redialing: Manual redialing and Automatic redialing. This section explains these two methods. Manual Redialing Press Redial to dial the last number you dialed with the numeric buttons. (This starts redialing regardless of whether automatic redialing is enabled.) Canceling Manual Redialing To cancel manual redialing, press Stop/Reset. Automatic Redialing What is Automatic Redialing? When you are sending a document using memory sending (1 p. 7-5) and the other party's line is busy, your machine waits the specified time interval and then redials the number automatically. This is called Automatic redialing. You will know that your machine is waiting to redial when AUTO REDIAL and the transaction number (TX/RX NO.) are displayed in the LCD. The automatic redialing options allow you to customize the number of times your machine redials, as well as the time interval between redials. You can also disable automatic redialing if you prefer your machine not to do so. If all automatic redialing attempts are unsuccessful, the machine cancels the transmission and prints an ERROR TX REPORT to notify you that the transmission was not completed (1 p. 11-4). Canceling Automatic Redialing Automatic redialing cannot be canceled with the Stop/Reset button while the machine is waiting to redial. You can either wait until your machine begins redialing and then follow the procedure below, or if you want to cancel while your machine is waiting to redial, you will have to delete the document from memory (1 p. 9-8). Redialing When the Line is Busy
