Special Features Switching Temporarily to Tone Dialing Many information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc., require tone dialing for their services. If your machine is set for pulse dialing (1 p. 3-8), follow this procedure to set your machine temporarily for tone dialing: 1 Press Hook. • You can also lift the handset instead of pressing Hook. TEL= 2 Use the numeric buttons to dial the telephone number of the information service. • Your machine connects using the pulses required by your telephone line. TEL= 765xxxx 3 When the recorded message of the information service answers, press T (Tone) to switch to tone dialing. • When T (Tone) is pressed, (T) is displayed in the LCD. • If you pressed Hook in step 1, you can pick up the handset if you need to talk to the other party. TEL= 765xxxxT 4 Use the numeric buttons to enter the numbers requested by the information service. • Numbers entered after pressing T (Tone) will be dialed using tone dialing. TEL= 765xxxxTT34 5 When you have finished, press Hook to disconnect the call. • If you used the handset, hang up to disconnect the call. • Tone dialing is canceled when you disconnect the call.
