The image reading mechanism is controlled based on the drive signals from the image processor PCB, thereby moving the contact sensor to read the original placed on thecopyboard glass. When the ADF is used, the contact sensor is moved to stream reading position, and the originals are read when they are moved by the ADF. 3.1.2 Major Components
The original exposure system consists of the following major components:
- contact sensor used to read originals
- reader motor, drive pulley, drive belt, carriage, and carriage rail used to move the contactsensor
- The analog processor PCB is used to convert the analog image data colleted by the econtact sensor into digital image data.
The image reading mechanism is controlled based on the drive signals from the image processor PCB, thereby moving the contact sensor to read the original placed
