Using the Image Stabilizer Function The image stabilizer function can be used to reduce the effects of camera shake when you are shooting a distant subject at full zoom or shooting in low light. The default setting for this function is On. To Shoot with the Image Stabilizer Function Off 1 Slide the image stabilizer switch to Off. To Shoot with the Image Stabilizer Function On 1 Slide the image stabilizer switch to On. • The icon will show in the LCD monitor or viewfinder. Image Stabilizer Icon • The camera may not be able to completely eliminate the effects of camera shake when shooting at slow shutter speeds, such as for night shots. In these cases, affix the camera to a tripod to shoot. • The camera may not be able to completely eliminate the effects of excessive camera shake. • You are also recommended to turn the image stabilizer off when you are purposely moving the camera to achieve a blurred effect.
