Removal and Replacement Procedures 4. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board 1 (Figure 5-13). 5. Loosen the four silver M2.5 × 18 shoulder screws 2 that secure the fan assembly to the base enclosure. ✎ The fan screws are spring-loaded and are captured by the fan assembly. Do not detach the fan screws from the fan assembly. 6. Lift up the right side 3 of the fan assembly until it clears the top cover shield. 7.
