System Overview 2.4.3 Support Components Input/output functions not provided by the chipset are handled by other support components. Some of these components also provide "housekeeping" and various other functions as well. Table 2-4 shows the functions provided by the support components. All dx6100 and dc7100 models support PC2700 (333- MHz) and PC3200 (400-MHz) DIMMs. Only dx6120 models support DDR2, PC2-4300 (533-MHz) DIMMs. ✎ DDR and DDR2 DIMMs are NOT interchangeable. Memory type is defined by the system board. The USDT system provides three DIMM sockets supporting up to 3 GB of memory while all other form factors provide four DIMM sockets and support a total of four gigabytes of memory. ✎ The maximum memory amounts stated above are with 1-GB memory modules using 1-Gb technology DIMMs. 2-26 361834-002 Technical Reference Guide
