Section 3 - Configuration IPv4 - PPTP Choose PPTP (Point-to-Point-Tunneling Protocol) if your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses a PPTP connection. Your ISP will provide you with a username and password. Click Save at any time to save the changes you have made on this page. PPTP Server Username Password Reconnect Mode Maximum Idle Time Enter the PPTP server's IP address or name provided by your ISP. Enter the username provided by your ISP. Enter the password provided by your ISP. Select Always on, On Demand, or Manual. Configurable when On Demand is selected. Enter a maximum idle time during which the Internet connection is maintained during inactivity. To disable this feature, select Always on or Manual as the reconnect mode. The default is 5 minutes. Address Mode Advanced Settings... Select Static IP if the following information is given by your ISP: IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server addresses. In most cases, select Dynamic IP. Advanced Settings... - Dynamic IP Address Mode Shows your chosen address mode. Primary DNS Server Enter the primary DNS server IP address assigned by your ISP. D-Link R12 User Manual 32
