Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility 5 Enter system setup, and check the value for System Memory. The system should have already changed the value of System Memory to reflect the newly installed memory. If the new total is correct, skip to step 7. 6 If the memory total is incorrect, repeat step 1 and step 3 of "Removing a Memory Module." Check the installed modules to ensure that they are seated properly in their sockets. If you have a mini tower chassis, stand the computer upright.

Replace the computer cover and
restart the system

The system detects that the new memory does not match the existing
system configuration information and generates the following
message:
The amount of system memory has changed.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup
utility

Enter system setup, and check the value for
System Memory
. The
system should have already changed the value of
System Memory
to
reflect the newly installed memory. If the new total is correct, skip to
step 7
.

If the memory total is incorrect, repeat
step 1
and
step 3
of "

." Check the installed modules to ensure that they
are seated properly in their sockets. Then repeat
step 2
through
step 5
of this procedure.

When the

total is correct, exit system setup.
