Prerequisites NOTE: The fingerprint reader is available depending on the configuration ordered. 1. Remove the base cover. 2. Remove the battery (half-length) or the battery (full-length). 3. Remove the memory modules. 4. Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 4 in "Removing the hard drive". 5. Remove the solid-state drive (half-length) or the solid-state drive (full-length). 6. Remove the wireless card. 7. Remove the heat sink. 8. Remove the fans. 9. Remove the system-board assembly. Procedure 1. Peel the fingerprint-reader cable (optional) from the palm-rest assembly. 2. Peel the tape that secures the power-button module to the palm-rest assembly. 3. Remove the screw (M1.6x1.5) that secures the fingerprint-reader board (optional) to the palm-rest assembly. 4. Remove the two screws (M1.6x3) that secure the power-button module to the palm-rest assembly. 5. Lift the power-button module and fingerprint-reader board (optional) off the palm-rest assembly. 56 Removing the fingerprint reader daughter-board (optional)

Prerequisites
NOTE:
The fingerprint reader is available depending on the configuration ordered.
1.
Remove the
base cover
.
2.
Remove the
battery (half-length)
or the
battery (full-length)
.
3.
Remove the
memory modules
.
4.
Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 4 in “
Removing the hard drive
”.
5.
Remove the
solid-state drive (half-length)
or the
solid-state drive (full-length)
.
6.
Remove the
wireless card
.
7.
Remove the
heat sink
.
8.
Remove the
fans
.
9.
Remove the
system-board assembly
.
Procedure
1.
Peel the fingerprint-reader cable (optional) from the palm-rest assembly.
2.
Peel the tape that secures the power-button module to the palm-rest assembly.
3.
Remove the screw (M1.6x1.5) that secures the fingerprint-reader board (optional) to the palm-rest assembly.
4.
Remove the two screws (M1.6x3) that secure the power-button module to the palm-rest assembly.
5.
Lift the power-button module and fingerprint-reader board (optional) off the palm-rest assembly.
