1-10 | Connecting Your Printer and Installing Drivers Installing the Software and Setting Up Printer Sharing in Windows Make sure all computers meet the minimum system requirements. Then follow the procedures for installing the software and checking the installation. Depending on your network configuration, you may also want to set up printer sharing. Instructions are provided for both Windows 95/98 and Windows NT. Checking System Requirements The memory requirements listed in the following table are for printing a 23 × 33-inch full-page color image. Requirements may vary, depending on the size, complexity, and resolution of your images. System requirements Component Minimum Recommended Processor i486/25 MHz for Windows 95 and NT 4.0 Pentium® II 300 MHz i486/66 MHz for Windows 98 and 2000 or higher OS Windows 95, 98, 2000, or Windows NT 4.0 Available memory 16MB RAM 128MB RAM or more Hard disk space 40MB free for installing the software For printing a file, space equivalent to double the file size Monitor VGA Super VGA or better CD-ROM Double-speed CD-ROM drive Quad-speed or faster Installing the Software Make sure any virus protection programs are turned off before you begin.
