On Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista, the user must have the administrative permissions in order to use this function. ii. Port range setting Use this menu command to display the "Port Range Settings" dialog box and set the maximum numbers of the serial or parallel ports according to the hardware configuration. Usually, as long as the port configuration is not changed, it is not necessary to use this dialog box.
