USB/audio board Description USB/audio board for use in models without WWAN USB/audio board for use in models with WWAN Spare part number 729607-001 727507-001 Before removing the USB/audio board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the service cover (see Service cover on page 37). 5. Disconnect the battery cable (see Battery on page 39). 6. Remove the RJ-45 module cover (see RJ-45 module cover on page 49). Remove the USB/audio board: 1. Disconnect the flat ribbon cable from the system board ZIF connector (1). 2. Disconnect the cable from the USB/audio board (2). 3. Move the antenna cables from atop the board (3). 4. Disconnect the left speaker/subwoofer cable (4). 5. Lift the USB/audio board upward (5). 6. Pull the USB/audio board to the right to remove it (6). Before removing the USB/audio board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the

2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

5.
Disconnect the battery cable (see

on page
39
).
6.
Remove the RJ-45 module cover (see
RJ-45 module cover
on page
49
).
Remove the USB/audio board:
1.
Disconnect the flat ribbon cable from the system board ZIF connector
(1)

2.
Disconnect the cable from the USB/audio board
(2)
.
3.
Move the antenna cables from atop the board
(3)
.
4.
Disconnect the left speaker/subwoofer cable
(4)
.
5.
Lift the USB/audio board upward
(5)
.
6.
Pull the USB/audio board to the right to remove it
(6)
.
Reverse this procedure to install the USB/audio board.
