Fingerprint reader assembly Description Fingerprint reader assembly Fingerprint reader insert (for use in models without a fingerprint reader) Spare part number L13681-001 L22111-001 (Plastics Kit) Before removing the fingerprint reader assembly, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 47). Remove the fingerprint reader assembly: 1. Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw (1) that secures the fingerprint reader bracket to the computer. 2. Lift the bracket from atop the fingerprint reader assembly (2). 3. Use a tool to pry the fingerprint reader board free from the computer (3), and then remove the assembly from the computer (4). Before removing the
fingerprint
reader assembly, follow these steps:
1.

Remove the
fingerprint
reader assembly:
1.
Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw

that secures the
fingerprint
reader bracket to the computer.
2.
Lift the bracket from atop the
fingerprint
reader assembly

3.
Use a tool to pry the
fingerprint
reader board free from the computer

, and then remove the assembly
from the computer

Reverse this procedure to install the
fingerprint
reader assembly.
