Fan Description Fan Spare part number L22307-001 Before removing the fan, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 47). 6. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 43). Remove the fan: NOTE: To remove the fan you must remove screws from both the top (under the keyboard) and bottom of the computer. 1. Position the computer upright and open as far as possible. 2. Remove the four Phillips M2.0×3.0 screws that secure the fan to the computer. 3. Close the computer and position it upside down. 4. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board (1). 5. Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw (2) that secures the fan to the computer. 6. Before removing the fan, follow these steps:
1.

3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by

5.
Remove the battery (see

).
6.
Remove the keyboard (see
Keyboard

).
Remove the fan:
NOTE:
To remove the fan you must remove screws from both the top (under the keyboard) and bottom of
the computer.
1.
Position the computer upright and open as far as possible.
2.
Remove the four Phillips M2.0×3.0 screws that secure the fan to the computer.
3.
Close the computer and position it upside down.
4.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board

Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw

that secures the fan to the computer.
6.
Loosen the two captive Phillips screws

that secure the fan to the computer.
