Turn the focus adjustment knobs in opposite directions in small increments of less than 0.25 turns and verify the change on the horizontal lines (Focus Front knob for SOS and Rear Focus knob for EOS). NOTE: If necessary see troubleshooting: Verify and adjust the writing head tilt (Beam spacing) - manual on page 17. Laser uniformity Follow the steps to run Laser Uniformity Wizard. NOTE: Skip this step during an initial press installation. 1. Click Main Menu > Problem Handling > HP Indigo Print Care > Component Service > Writing Head > Installation of Writing Head with Manual Interface. 2. Click Go to Process > Run Laser Uniformity Wizard. 3. Click Run Wizard. Follow the wizard instructions. Verifying scaling Verify that the scaling is correct: 1. Click Main Menu > Problem Handling > HP Indigo Print Care > Component Service > Writing Head > Installation of Writing Head with Manual Interface. 2. Click Go to Process > Verify Scaling. 3. Click Run Wizard. Follow the wizard instructions. NOTE: If necessary see troubleshooting: Verifying scaling (only for the 7000 Press) on page 18. Verifying image placement Verify that the image placement is correct: 1. Click Main Menu > Problem Handling > HP Indigo Print Care > Component Service > Writing Head > Installation of Writing Head with Manual Interface. 2. Click Go to Process > Verify Image Placement. 3. Click Run Wizard. Follow the wizard instructions. Verifying linear deskew and leveling Print the WritingHeadFocus.jlt job and check for linear deskew. If there is a "saw-tooth" pattern, continue with the following steps (see Verify focus fine tuning on page 10 and Linear deskew correction on page 18). 1.
