4 Configuring Mass Storage The HP NetServer LD Pro chassis contains three horizontal mass storage shelves and a hot swap subsystem with three hot swap shelves. There are also openings in the chassis for connectors to provide connection to optional exterior mass storage subsystems. The NetServer LD Pro can be configured to accommodate a number of different configurations. NOTE For cabling configuration information, see the Technical Information Label on the mass storage side of the chassis and Information Assistant on the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM. Mass Storage Indicator Lights On the front of the NetServer are a number of lights, shown in Figure 4-1, that indicate the status of the mass storage devices and controllers. Mass Storage Indicator Lights

Flexible disk drive activity light
Yellow or Green = disk drive active
CD-ROM drive activity light
Green = power on
Yellow = drive active
Blinking = drawer opening or closing
Hard disk status light
Green = drive powered on
Flash yellow = drive error
All drives flash simultaneously
Flash yellow = temperature warning
Flash red = temperature emergency
