Removing a Processor Module and VRM If you are upgrading an existing processor, you must first remove the existing processor module and its respective VRM. 1. Rotate the retaining latches to release the processor module. 2. Remove the desired processor module from the slot and place it on antistatic surface. See Figure 2-6. 3. Identify the VRM for the respective processor module. See Figure 2-1. For example, if you remove processor 1, you must remove VRM 1. 4. Open the retaining latches of the desired VRM. 5. Removing a Processor Module and VRM
If you are upgrading an existing processor, you must first remove the existing
processor module and its respective VRM.
1.
Rotate the retaining latches to release the processor module.
2.
Remove the desired processor module from the slot and place it on
antistatic surface. See Figure 2-6.
3.
Identify the VRM for the respective processor module. See Figure 2-1.
