About This Guide Precautions Follow the procedures listed below and in this manual to ensure safe handling of components and to prevent harm to both you and the HP NetServer. WARNING Before removing a cover, always disconnect the power cord(s) and unplug telephone cables. Disconnect the power cords to avoid exposure to high energy levels that may cause burns when parts are short-circuited by metal objects, such as tools or jewelry. Disconnect telephone cables to avoid exposure to shock hazard from telephone ringing devices. Note that the power switch does not turn off the standby power. Disconnect the power cord(s) to turn off standby power. CAUTION This processor module is sensitive to static electricity and can easily be damaged by improper handling. Use of a grounding strap is recommended. Read the following information carefully before you handle the processor: • Leave the processor in the sealed antistatic bag until you are ready to install it. • Use an antistatic service kit, such as 3M™ 8501/8502/8505 or equivalent. • Before you remove the processor from the antistatic bag, touch a grounded, unpainted metal surface on the system to discharge static electricity. 2
