Description 8-GB solid-state drive 16-GB solid-state drive 60-GB, 4200-rpm hard drive Spare part number 507313-001 507314-001 504601-001 Before removing the hard drive or solid-state drive, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the device. If you are unsure whether the device is off or in Hibernation, turn the device on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the device. 3. Disconnect the power from the device by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the device. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 37). 5. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 40). To remove the hard drive: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the SIM card cable is attached. The end of the cable lies across the top of the hard drive. 2. Disconnect the SIM card cable (2), and then detach the tape from the top of the hard drive. 3. Release the low insertion force (LIF) connector (1) to which the hard drive cable is attached. 4. Disconnect the hard drive cable (2). 5. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×4.5 screws (3) that secure the hard drive to the device. 42 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the hard drive or solid-state drive, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the device. If you are unsure whether the device is off or in Hibernation, turn the device
on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the device.
3.
Disconnect the power from the device by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the device.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery
on page
37
).
5.
Remove the keyboard (see
Keyboard
on page
40
).
To remove the hard drive:
1.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the SIM card cable is attached. The end of the cable lies
across the top of the hard drive.
2.
Disconnect the SIM card cable
(2)
, and then detach the tape from the top of the hard drive.
3.
Release the low insertion force (LIF) connector
(1)
to which the hard drive cable is attached.
4.
Disconnect the hard drive cable
(2)
.
5.
Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×4.5 screws
(3)
that secure the hard drive to the device.
