Hardware Architecture Most of the functionality is on one assembly, the system board. The system board has the interface controllers, CPU circuits, memory controller, and graphics/video circuits. RAM boards plug into sockets on the system board. Operating System HP-UX HP-UX 9.03 (or later) is supported on the Model 712 workstation. It is booted from an internal hard disk drive factory installed with Instant Ignition. HP-UX may also be installed from external DDS or CD-ROM drives. If the workstation is a client on LAN, HP-UX can be booted over the LAN. Table 1-4 lists the HP-UX operating systems and languages for the workstation. Table 1-4. General Information
