Fan Description Fan (includes cable) Spare part number 857463-001 Before removing the fan, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 34) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 35) c. Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 37) d. Disconnect the WLAN cable (see WLAN module on page 45) Remove the fan: 1. Release the WLAN cable (1) from the clips on the left speaker clip and move the WLAN cable out of the way. 2. Disconnect the fan cable (2) from the system board. 3. Before removing the fan, follow these steps:
1.
Turn

Remove the fan:
1.
Release the WLAN cable

from the clips on the left speaker clip and move the WLAN cable out of the
way.

Disconnect the fan cable

from the system board.
3.
Remove the three Phillips M2.0 x 4.5 screws

that secure the fan to the top cover.
