TouchPad board Description TouchPad board TouchPad cable Spare part number 862959-001 857455-001 Before removing the TouchPad board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 34) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 35) c. Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 37) d. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 39) e. SSD (see SSD (M.2) on page 42) f. Disconnect the WLAN cable (see WLAN module on page 45) g. Right speaker (see Right speaker on page 47) h. USB board (see USB board on page 49) i. Fan (see Fan on page 50) j. Heat sink for discrete graphics memory (see Heat sink for discrete graphics memory on page 51) k. Left speaker (see Left speaker on page 53) l. System board (see System board on page 57) Remove the TouchPad board: 1. Lift the plastic protector (1) away from the TouchPad. 2. Carefully remove the three Phillips M2.0 x 2.0 screws (2) that secure the TouchPad bracket to the computer. 3. Before removing the TouchPad board, follow these steps:
1.
