USB board Description USB board (includes cable) Spare part number 686269-001 Before removing the USB board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 37), and then remove the following components: a. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 38) b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 40) c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 42) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 46) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 49) f. System board (see System board on page 57) Remove the USB board: 1. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×6.0 screws (1) that secure the USB board to the base enclosure. 2. Remove the USB board (2). Component replacement procedures 73
