USB board Description USB board (includes cable) Spare part number 616477-001 Before removing the USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 49), and then remove the following components: a. Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see Memory module on page 50) b. Hard drive cover (see Hard drive on page 58) c. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 64) d. Top cover (see Top cover on page 67) Remove the USB board: 1. Remove the three Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws (1) that secure the base enclosure bracket to the base enclosure. 2. Lift the front edge of the base enclosure bracket (2) until the rear edge of the bracket disengages from the slot in the base enclosure. 3. Slide the base enclosure bracket (3) up and forward and remove it. Before removing the USB board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

), and then remove the following components:
a.
Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see

b.
Hard drive cover (see

)
c.
Keyboard (see

d.
Top cover (see

Remove the USB board:
1.
Remove the three Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws
(1)
that secure the base enclosure bracket to the
base enclosure.
2.
Lift the front edge of the base enclosure bracket
(2)
until the rear edge of the bracket disengages
from the slot in the base enclosure.
3.
Slide the base enclosure bracket
(3)
up and forward and remove it. The base enclosure bracket is
included in the base enclosure spare part kit, spare part number 606884-001.
