Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 49), and then remove the following components: a. Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see Memory module on page 50) b. Hard drive cover (see Hard drive on page 58) c. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 64) d. Top cover (see Top cover on page 67) Remove the display assembly: 1. Disconnect the display panel cable (1) from the system board and release the display panel cable from the routing clip (2) built into the fan/heat sink assembly. 2. Release the wireless antenna cables (3) from the opening (4) in the base enclosure. CAUTION: Support the display assembly when removing the following screws. Failure to support the display assembly can result in damage to the display assembly and other computer components. 3. Remove the four Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws (1) that secure the display assembly to the computer. NOTE: One of the screws on the left hinge secures a display panel ground loop (2). Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1.

Remove the display assembly:
1.
Disconnect the display panel cable
(1)
from the system board and release the display panel cable
from the routing clip
(2)
built into the fan/heat sink assembly.
2.
Release the wireless antenna cables
(3)
from the opening
(4)
in the base enclosure.
CAUTION:
Support the display assembly when removing the following screws. Failure to
support the display assembly can result in damage to the display assembly and other computer
components.
3.
Remove the four Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws
(1)
that secure the display assembly to the computer.
