Bluetooth module NOTE: The Bluetooth module spare part kit does not include a Bluetooth module cable. The Bluetooth module cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 603645-001. Description Bluetooth module (includes the Bluetooth module rubber sleeve) Spare part number 537921-001 Before removing the Bluetooth module, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 43), and then remove the following components: a. Accessory cover (see Hard drive on page 44) b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 53) c. Top cover (see Top cover on page 56) d. Front USB board (see Front USB board on page 61) Remove the Bluetooth module: 1. Disconnect the Bluetooth module cable (1) from the system board. 2. Release the Bluetooth module cable from the clips (2) built into the left speaker. 3. Release the Bluetooth module cable from the clips (3) built into the base enclosure. 4. Detach the Bluetooth module (4) and sleeve from the base enclosure. (The Bluetooth module and sleeve are attached to the base enclosure with double-sided tape). 62 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

NOTE:

Before removing the Bluetooth module, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery
on page
43
), and then remove the following components:
a.
Accessory cover (see
Hard drive

)
b.
Keyboard (see
Keyboard
on page

)
c.
Top cover (see
Top cover
on page

)
d.
Front USB board (see
Front USB board
on page

Remove the Bluetooth module:
1.
Disconnect the Bluetooth module cable
(1)
from the system board.
2.
Release the Bluetooth module cable from the clips
(2)
built into the left speaker.
3.
Release the Bluetooth module cable from the clips
(3)
built into the base enclosure.
4.
Detach the Bluetooth module
(4)
and sleeve from the base enclosure. (The Bluetooth module and
sleeve are attached to the base enclosure with double-sided tape).
