Rear USB board, Release the ZIF connector to which the rear USB board cable is connected

Rear USB board NOTE: The rear USB board and cable are included in the USB Board Kit, spare part number 603683-001. Before removing the rear USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 43), and then remove the following components: a. Accessory cover (see Hard drive on page 44) b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 53) c. Top cover (see Top cover on page 56) Remove the rear USB board: 1. Release the ZIF connector to which the rear USB board cable is connected, and then disconnect the rear USB board cable (1) from the system board. 2. Release the clips (2) built into the base enclosure that secure the rear USB board to the base enclosure. 3. Remove the rear USB board (3). Rear USB board
NOTE:
The rear USB board and cable are included in the USB Board Kit, spare part number
603683-001.
Before removing the rear USB board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see

), and then remove the following components:

b.

c.
Top cover (see

Remove the rear USB board:
1.
Release the ZIF connector to which the rear USB board cable is connected, and then disconnect
the rear USB board cable

from the system board.
2.
Release the clips
(2)
built into the base enclosure that secure the rear USB board to
the base enclosure.
3.
Remove the rear USB board

Reverse this procedure to install the rear USB board.
