Optical drive connector cable NOTE: The optical drive connector cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 645968-001. Before removing the optical drive connector cable, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 41), and then remove the following components: ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 42) ● Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 51) ● Top cover (see Top cover on page 54) ● Speakers (see Speakers on page 61) ● USB board (see USB board on page 63) ● Power connector cable (see Power connector cable on page 64) ● Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 66) ● System board (see System board on page 73) Remove the optical drive connector cable: 1. Release the optical drive cable from the clips (1) built into the base enclosure. 2. Optical drive connector cable
NOTE:
The optical drive connector cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number
645968-001.
Before removing the optical drive connector cable, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

1.
Release the optical drive cable from the clips
(1)
built into the base enclosure.
2.
Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×5.0 screws
