Before removing the hinge assembly, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the tablet and keyboard base. If you are unsure whether the tablet and keyboard base are off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the tablet and keyboard base by unplugging the power cord from the tablet and keyboard base. 3. Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 36). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the docking board (see Battery on page 37). Remove the hinge assembly: 1. Disconnect the two hinge assembly cables (1) from the docking board. 2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×6.35 screws (2) that secure the hinge assembly to the keyboard/ top cover. 3. Remove the hinge assembly (3) and cables. Reverse this procedure to install the hinge assembly. 40 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures preliminary requirements

Before removing the hinge assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the tablet and keyboard base. If you are unsure whether the tablet and keyboard base are
off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the tablet and keyboard base by unplugging the power cord from the
tablet and keyboard base.
3.
Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base.
4.
Remove the bottom cover (see

).
5.
Disconnect the battery cable from the docking board (see
Battery
on page
37
).
Remove the hinge assembly:
1.
Disconnect the two hinge assembly cables
(1)
from the docking board.
2.
Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×6.35 screws
(2)
that secure the hinge assembly to the keyboard/
top cover.
3.
Remove the hinge assembly
(3)
and cables.
Reverse this procedure to install the hinge assembly.
