Heat sink Description Heat sink (includes the replacement thermal material) Spare part number 942841-001 Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 29), and then remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 31) b. Solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 33) c. Fans (see Fans on page 35) d. System board (see System board on page 51) Remove the heat sink: 1. Turn the system board upside down with the front toward you. 2.
