CD-ROM drive Before you begin: v Read Appendix B, "Safety information," on page 143. v Review the information in "System reliability guidelines" on page 25. To remove the CD-ROM drive, complete the following steps: 1. Turn off the server, if it is on. 2. Disconnect the power cord from the power source and from the server; then, disconnect all external cables. 3. Remove the side cover (see "Removing the side cover" on page 28). 4. Remove the front bezel (see "Removing the bezel" on page 30). 5. Disconnect the CD-ROM drive connector and power cables from the rear of the drive. 6. Press the blue touch point on the raised area of the CD-ROM drive cage and gently slide the CD-ROM drive toward the front of the server. 7. Lift the CD-ROM drive out of the server. To
remove
the
CD-ROM
drive,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Turn
off
the
server,
if
it
is
on.
2.
Disconnect
the
power
cord
from
the
power
source
and
from
the
server;
then,
disconnect
all
external
cables.
3.
Remove
the
side
cover

“Removing
the

cover”
on
page
28).
4.
Remove
the
front
bezel
(see
“Removing
the
bezel”
on
page
30).
5.
Disconnect
the
CD-ROM
drive
connector
and
power
cables
from
the
rear
of
the
drive.
6.
Press
the
blue
touch
point
on
the
raised
area
of
the
CD-ROM
drive
cage
and
gently
slide
the
CD-ROM
drive
toward
the
front
of
the
server.
7.
Lift
the
CD-ROM
drive
out
of
the
server.
