Removing the side cover To remove the side cover of the computer, complete the following steps: 1. Read the safety information that begins on page v and "Installation guidelines" on page 29. 2. Turn off the computer and all attached devices (see "Turning off the computer" on page 19); then, disconnect all power cords and external cables. 3. Unlock the side cover, if it is locked. 4. Press the cover-release button on the side of the computer, and push the side cover toward the rear of the computer. Lift the side cover off the computer and set it aside. Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace the cover before you turn on the computer. Operating the computer with the cover removed might damage computer components. Chapter 4. Removing
the
side
cover
To
remove
the
side
cover
of
the
computer,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
v
and
“Installation
guidelines”
on
page
29.
2.
Turn
off
the
computer
and
all
attached
devices
(see
“Turning
off
the
computer”
on
page
19);
then,
disconnect
all
power
cords
and
external
cables.
3.
Unlock
the
side
cover,
if
it
is
locked.
4.
Press
the
cover-release
button
on
the
side
of
the
computer,
and
push
the
side
cover
toward
the
rear
of
the
computer.
Lift
the
side
cover
off
the
computer
and
set
it
aside.
Attention:
