10. Rotate the rear adapter-retention bracket to the closed (locked) position. 11. Connect required cables to the adapter. Route cables so that they do not block the flow of air from the fans. 12. If you have another adapter to install, repeat steps 5 through 11. 13. If you have installed a full-length adapter, press down on the top tab of the front adapter-retention bracket to lock it in place; then, rotate the front adapter-retention bracket to the closed (locked) position. 14. Rotate the internal drive-bay bracket back into the computer and press down on the bracket to lock it into place. If you have other devices to install, do so now; otherwise, go to "Completing the installation" on page 53. Installing internal drives Depending on the computer model, one or more of the following drives might be installed in the computer: v Diskette (optional) v Hard disk v CD-RW, or DVD/CD-RW combo Bay 1 Bay 2 Bay 3 Bay 4 Bay 6 Bay 5 The following notes describe the types of drives that the computer supports and other information that you must consider when you install drives: v The computer comes with an IDE optical drive in bay 1 and one hard disk drive in bay 4. 42 IBM IntelliStation M Pro Type 9229: User's Guide
