when you
want better quality sound.
You can then use the Wave Table

MIDI for FM Synthesis
when you want to use FM MIDI
sound.
This is the default setting.

MIDI for Crystal** PnP Audio System MPU-401
Compatible
when you want to use the external MIDI device
attached to the port replicator.
