8 DSC OPERATION ■■ Sending a Distress call (Continued) DDRegular call You can compose a Distress call. Step 1. Display the COMPOSE DISTRESS screen 1. Push [Compose Distress] . 2. Select the option, then push [ENT]. Step 4. Sending (Example: Fire,Explosion) 1. Lift up the key cover, then Rotate hold down [DISTRESS] until "Transmitting" is displayed to send the Distress call. + Push ••While holding down [DISTRESS], count down beeps sound and both the key and display backlighting blink. Options: Undesignated, Fire,Explosion, Flooding, Collision, Grounding, Capsizing, Sinking, Push Adrift, Abandoning Ship, Piracy, and Man Overboard. LLTo display the screen from the Menu screen: ([MENU] > Compose Distress) LLThe transceiver stores this setting for 30 seconds. You can skip Step 3 below if your ••• position and time data are valid. Step 2. Setting "Nature of Distress" In that case, go to Step 4. 1. Push [ENT]. Push Step 3. Entering "Position" 1. Select "Position," then push [ENT]. ••The position entry screen is displayed. 2.
