OTHER FUNCTIONS 9 ■■Using the Horn DDUsing the Automatic Foghorn The Automatic Foghorn function sounds a horn repeatedly until the function is turned OFF. TYPE UNDERWAY PATTERN One 5-second blasts every 120 5s seconds. STOP SAIL TOW Two 5-second blasts (separated by 2 seconds) every 120 seconds. One 5-second blast followed by two 1-second blasts (each separated by 2 seconds) every 120 seconds. One 5-second blast followed by three 1-second blasts (each separated by 2-seconds) every 120 seconds. 5s 2s 5s 1s 2s 5s 1s 2s 1 2 The foghorn outputs from the hailer speaker. To use this 3 function, the hailer speaker must be connected to the 4 transceiver. See page 92 for connection details. USAGE 5 Motor vessel underway and making way. 6 7 120s 8 Motor vessel underway but stopped (not 9 making way). 10 120s 11 Sailing vessel underway, fishing vessel 12 (underway or anchored), vessel not under 13 command, a vessel restricted in her ability to maneuver (underway or at anchor), or a 14 120s vessel towing or pushing another ahead. 15 Vessel under tow (manned). 16 120s 67
