48 Recording of an entire CD (CD DIRECT RECORDING) Convenient CD recording XD-SERIES (EN/M,T) Perform the following operation while the CD player is in stop mode to start recording at the same time as the start of playback. Recording preparations are required. (Steps 1 to 4) ¤ 1 Check that the CD player is in the stop mode. If it is in play mode &^ XD-7...series : The equalizer or 3D surround effect applied to the audio can be recorded together with it. W XD-6...series, XD-8...series : The equalizer effect applied to the audio can be recorded together with it, but the effects obtained by surround playback or DSP playback cannot be recorded to- gether with the audio. E 2 Select "Recording Options". MENU MULTI CONTROL SELECT The following items can be selected by turning the MULTI CONTROL jog dial. "CD Program Play" "Recording Options" "Audio Options" "Clock Options" "Surround Setup" (Except for XD-7...series) +Scrolled display (Recording Options) Lights 3 Select "CD Direct Recording". MULTI CONTROL SELECT 4 Select the disc. Recording The following items can be selected by turning the MULTI CONTROL jog dial. "CD Direct Recording" "CD Program Recording" "Timer Recording" +Scrolled display (CD Direct Recording) CD Direct MULTI CONTROL SELECT +Scrolled display (Select Disc No.) Select Dis Disc No.1 Application section 5 Start recording. ENTER ÷ Recording of CD starts at the same time as playback. ÷ At the end of tape, the music is not recorded on the leader tape portion. If you do not want any music to be interrupted in the middle, refer to "Recording on TAPE" and start recording of side B with the interrupted track. ¤ +Scrolled display (Press 'ENTER' to Start) Press 'ENT To end recording in the middle &^ ÷ Both the cassette deck and CD player stop.

Perform the following operation while the CD player is in stop mode to start recording at the same time as
the start of playback.
Convenient CD recording

Recording of CD starts at the same time as playback.

At the end of tape, the music is not recorded on the
leader tape portion. If you do not want any music to
be interrupted in the middle, refer to
“Recording on
TAPE”
and start recording of side B with the
interrupted track.

To end recording in the middle
