4 Select the delay time. 4 2 MULTI CONTROL ¢ 3 SELECT 5 Adjust the volume balance. 1 Press the MULTI CONTROL key while "Test C" or "Test S" is displayed. 2 Adjust the surround speaker volumes equal to the volume of the test tone from the left and right front speakers. When the listening position is located between the front and surround speakers "30ms" ... When the listening position is closer to the surround speakers "15ms" ... When the listening position is closer to the front speakers +Scrolled display (Select Channel Level) Select Cha Test L The display and test tone output speaker are switched automatically. When adjusting the center speaker and surround speaker volume levels : 1 "Test L" (Left) 2 "Test C" (Center) 3 "Test R" (Right) 4 "Test S" (Surround) ÷ When the center speaker and/or surround speakers are set to "No" in the "Surround setting" procedure steps 2 and/or 3, the display and test tone output of the speakers are not provided. ÷ Be sure to adjust from your listening position. ÷ The volume level can be adjusted in steps of 1 dB. ÷ The volume levels can be adjusted in the range from -10 dB to +10 dB. ÷ The set center level value will be stored as the common setting for "Dolby Pro logic" and "Dolby 3 stereo". ÷ After completion of the settings, the set contents will be displayed by scrolling. (Center speaker setting = Surround speaker setting = Delay time setting= "Press 'ENTER' to Save") To start surround play, select surround playback with the LISTEN MODE key or SOUND CONTROL jog dial. E Application section Delay time This refers to the difference in timing of the sound output from the surround speakers with respect to that output from the front speakers. The delay time setting consists of adjusting this difference in time.
