BIOS Setup Primary/Secondary Master/Slave UltraDMA Ultra DMA/33 implementation is possible only if your IDE hard drive supports it and the operating environment includes a DMA driver (Windows 95 OSR2 or a third-party IDE bus master driver). If your hard drive and your system software both support Ultra DMA/33, Ultra DMA/ 66 and Ultra DMA/100 select Auto to enable BIOS support. The settings are: Auto, Disabled. IDE Prefetch Mode The onboard IDE drive interfaces support IDE prefetching, for faster drive accesses. When you install a primary and/or secondary add-in IDE interface, set this option to Disabled if the interface does not support prefetching. IDE DMA Transfer Access This item is used to enable or disable the DMA transfer function of the IDE Hard Drive. The settings are: Enabled, Disabled. IDE HDD Block Mode Block mode is also called block transfer, multiple commands, or multiple sector read/write. If your IDE hard drive supports block mode (most new drives do), select Enabled for automatic detection of the optimal number of block read/writes per sector the drive can support. Settings: Enabled, Disabled. Onboard Device Press to enter the sub-menu and the following screen appears: AC97 Audio Auto allows the mainboard to detect whether an audio device is used. If an audio device is detected, the onboard AC'97 (Audio Codec'97) controller will be enabled; if not, it is disabled. Disable the controller if you want to use other controller cards to connect an audio device. Settings: 3-17

This item is used to enable or disable the DMA transfer function of the
IDE Hard Drive.

If your IDE hard drive supports block mode (most
