Scanning 2 - 5 Scanning in Presentation Mode The optional IntelliStand adds greater flexibility to scanning operation. When you insert the scanner into the stand's "cup," the scanner's built-in sensor places the scanner in presentation (hands-free) mode. When you remove the scanner from the stand, it operates in its normal hand-held mode. Connect the scanner to the host (see the appropriate host chapter for information on host connections). 2. Insert the scanner into the IntelliStand by placing the front of the scanner into the stand's "cup" (see Figure 2-4). 3. To scan a bar code, present the bar code and ensure the scan line crosses every bar and space of the symbol. 4. Upon successful decode, the scanner beeps and the LED turns green.
