conserve battery life To set how long your device waits before the backlight turns off, press Start > Settings > Power Management > Backlight time out on battery. When the backlight is off, the display is visible but dim. Your device has a light sensor that tells it when you're in a dark place. You can tell your device to use the backlight only when it's dark, press Start > Settings > Power Management > Smart Backlight > Enable. To close unused programs, from the home screen, press and hold X to open the quick options menu, then select Task Manager. Select a program and press End Task, or press Menu > End All Tasks. turn it on & off To turn on your device, press and release O. If prompted, enter your four-digit unlock code. Tip: If your device does not turn on, take your battery out, put it back in, and try again.
