Phone Basics Tip: You can also charge your phone using a Motorola-approved USB cable and a computer that supports charging through its USB port. You can only use a Motorola-approved USB cable. Battery Use and Maintenance ⅷ Nextel-approved Li-Ion chargers provide optimum performance. Other chargers may not fully charge the Li-Ion battery or may yield a reduced number of lifetime charge cycles. ⅷ Extreme temperatures degrade battery performance. Do not store the battery where temperatures exceed 140°F (60°C) or fall below -4°F (-20°C). ⅷ Li-Ion batteries have a self-discharge rate and, without use, lose about 1% of their charge per day. Turning Your Phone On and Off To turn your phone on: 1. Open the phone. 2. Press and hold e for approximately two seconds. As your phone connects to the network, you see a connecting message. Your phone may require you to enter identifying information to use it or to access specific features. See "Setting Your Phone's Security" on page 87 for more information. To power your phone off: 1.
