RAW File Format Benefits Unique among image editing software, Capture NX 2 provides you with the ability to achieve the highest quality results for processing NEF (Nikon Electronic Format) RAW files as well as powerful tools that can enhance any image. Shooting RAW has a number of distinct advantages over shooting and saving processed files such as JPEG and TIFF files. The RAW format records important archival information about the conditions under which the image was captured. This information can be used by Capture NX 2 to make unique adjustments to enhance the image after capture.
