Once you have configured your print services, you may need to configure the printer port parameters. 4. Select Port Configuration from the Print Server Configuration screen. Next, select the port you wish to configure. 5. After you have selected a port for configuration, a Configuration screen will appear. This screen asks for information that is pertinent to the selected port. Language Switching Each output port can be selected to perform the following language switching options: AUTO, PCL, PS, or OFF. Unless the OFF selection is selected, a language switching character string will be inserted before each print job. The Printer Type selection is used to determine the actual characters required to switch you printer language. • OFF - Print data stream will be sent directly to the output port without alteration. • PCL - Inserts the appropriate character string in from of each print job to switch the printer to the PCL print language. • PS - Inserts the appropriate character string in from of each print job to switch the printer to the PostScript printer language. • AUTO - Enables the auto language sensing function. This function examines the print job data stream and determines the required print languages. Printer Type The Printer type selection is used to determine the actual character string required for your printer. If your printer type is not listed, select Other. Add Service
