Setting Communication Preferences The Communication Preferences category enables you to access screens where you can modify Connection and Network settings. To open the Communication Preferences screens: 1. Tap the Home icon . 2. Tap the Prefs icon . Connection Preferences The Connection Preferences screen enables you to define the settings used to connect your handheld to other devices. The screen displays a list of available configurations that are ready to be further defined; the list varies depending on the kind of software you've added to your handheld. For existing connection types, you can either use the default connection information or edit this information. You can also create custom configurations, such as the following: Modem to Infrared: A connection between the IR port of your handheld and a modem. The modem can be attached to or within a mobile phone or other device containing an IR port. (Some infrared phones contain modems.) 253
