Troubleshooting Troubleshooting Confirm the following problem and cause. Should any problem persist, contact an Authorised Service Centre. Problem Cause Page Power does not turn on. No picture appears. The picture is fuzzy. Colour is pale or grayish. No sound can be heard from the internal speaker. The remote control does not operate. The control buttons of the projector do not operate. The picture does not display correctly. Picture from a computer does not appear. The projector cannot be controlled through serial terminal. zzThe mains lead may not be connected securely. zzNo electric supply at the mains socket. zzThe circuit breakers have tripped. zzTEMP or LAMP indicator is lit or flashes. zzThe lamp unit cover has not been securely installed. zzThe control buttons are LOCKED. zzCONTROL PANEL in the PROJECTOR SETUP menu is invalidated. zzThe audio signal source may not be connected properly. zzThe input selection setting may not be correct. zzThe BRIGHTNESS adjustment setting may be at the minimum setting. zzThe signal input source may not be operating properly. zzThe AV MUTE function may be in use. zzThe lens focus may not have been set correctly. zzThe projector may not be at the correct distance from the screen. zzThe lens may be dirty. zzThe projector may be tilted too much. zzCOLOR or TINT adjustment may be incorrect. zzThe input source which is connected to the projector may not be adjusted correctly. zzThe audio signal source may not be connected properly. zzThe volume adjustment may be at the lowest possible setting. zzA cable may be connected to the VARIABLE AUDIO OUT terminal. zzThe batteries may be weak. zzThe batteries may not have been inserted correctly. zzThe remote control signal receptor on the projector may be obstructed. zzThe remote control unit may be out of the operation range. zzREMOTE CONTROLLER in the PROJECTOR SETUP menu is invalidated. zzThe remote control is under a strong light such as fluorescent. zzCONTROL PANEL in the PROJECTOR SETUP menu is invalidated. (If you have a loss of the remote control while the CONTROL PANEL is invalidated, press and hold the MENU button for 2 seconds by pressing the ENTER button.) zzThe signal format (TV-SYSTEM, RGB/YPBPR) may not have been set correctly. zzThere may be a problem with the VCR or other signal source. zzA signal which is not compatible with the projector is being input. zzThe RGB signal cable is too long. (Limit to 10 m (32'10").) zzThe external video output from a laptop computer may not be correct. (You may be able to change the external output settings by pressing the [Fn] + [F3] or [Fn] + [F10] keys simultaneously. The actual method varies depending on the type of computer; refer to the documentation provided with your computer for further details.) zzEMULATE in the PROJECTOR SETUP menu is not set correctly.
