Inserting the Lithium Battery To keep tale and birth dates in the camcorder's memory, as well as to activate the clock, insert a lithium battery. Note that the lithium battery has a positive (a) and a negative (-) sides as illustrated below. Be sure to install the lithium battery with the positive (a) side lacing out. O ( ( 1 Open the lid of the lithium battery compartment located behind the grip strap. Oa 2 Insert the supplied lithium battery with the positive (a.) side facing out. 3 Close the lid. Lithium battery life The battery lasts for about 1 year. When the lithium battery becomes weak. the itt, indicator flashes in the viewfinder for about 5 seconds when you set the POWER switch to CAMERA. In this case. replace the battery with a Sony CR2025 or Duracell DL-2025 lithium battery. Use of any other battery may present a risk of tire or explosion. Note on replacing the lithium battery When replacing the lithium battery, keep the battery pack or other power source attached. Otherwise. you will need to reset the date. time, and birth date. Warning Caution Battery may explode it mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble or dispose of in lire. Keep the lithium battery out of the reach of children. Should the battery be swallowed, consult a doctor immediately. 8 Getting Started Setting the Date and Time You need to set the camcorder's date and time to be able to superimpose the date and time onto your video.
