Chapter 4 Playing Discs (DVP-NW50 only) TV Display Selects the aspect ratio of the connected TV screen (4:3 standard or wide). Depending on the disc, "Normal/LB" may be selected automatically instead of "Normal/PS" or vice versa. The default setting is underlined. Normal/PS (4:3 PAN SCAN) Normal/LB (4:3 LETTER BOX) Select this when you connect a 4:3 screen TV. Automatically displays a wide picture on the entire screen and cuts off the portions that do not fit. Setting the language and playback restriction (Preference) Choose settings according to the TV to be connected. 1 Press DVD SETUP on the remote when the Unit is in stop mode. The Setting Menu appears. 2 Press G/g to select (Preference,) then press ENTER or f on the remote. The options for "Preference" appear. 16:9 Wide Select this when you connect a 4:3 screen TV. OSD Lang (On-Screen Display Language) Switches the display language on the screen. Captions The hidden subtitle is displayed or turn off. The default setting is "ON." Screen Saver The screen saver image appears when you leave the Unit in pause or stop mode for five minutes. The screen saver will help prevent your display device from becoming damaged (ghosting).
