Chapter 6 Using the System Network Enjoying Music in All Rooms Simultaneously (Party mode) Using the Party mode function, you can share the music content among multiple Units simultaneously. You can also exclude a selected room from the Party mode (Party Privacy). Source and play modes available in the Party mode are the following: • NETWORK/MY MUSIC - CDs inserted into Units in which the Party Privacy is set to off. - MP3-format music files stored on the hard disc drive of a computer. • CD/DVD - CDs (when using a CDP-NW10) - CDs, Data CDs (MP3) (when using a DVP-NW50) • A device connected via LINE IN - Sound output from a device connected via LINE IN. • Tuner - A station currently tuning in. 1 Press MODE after selecting a source on the Home Menu. The Mode Menu appears. e.g. When you press MODE while playing a CD. 2 Press the "PARTY" SELECT. "Party" appears on the right side of the top line on the front panel display. The Unit enters the Party mode, and music is output to the rooms. Tip In the Party mode, some playback operations such as stop, play, etc., are operable on all of the Units. To cancel the Party mode You can cancel the Party mode from any of the Units even if the Unit is not in the Party mode. Press the highlighted "PARTY" SELECT on the Mode Menu using the same procedure you used when you activate the Party mode. Excluding the Unit from a Party mode (Party Privacy) If you set the Party Privacy in a selected Unit, you can operate that Unit individually even if other Unit is in the Party mode. The setting is retained even if you turn off the Unit. 1 Press the "V" SELECT on the Home Menu, then press the "SETUP" SELECT. The Setup Menu appears. 2 Press the "PRIVACY" SELECT. "PRIVACY" is highlighted. The Unit enters the Party Privacy mode. Tips • When you want to join the Party mode, press MODE, then the "JOIN" SELECT on the Mode Menu. If the Unit has already joined in the Party mode, "QUIT" is displayed on the Mode Menu. • When you want to quit the Party mode, press MODE, then the "QUIT" SELECT on the Mode Menu. If the Unit has not joined in the Party mode, "JOIN" is displayed on the Mode Menu. 37US

Enjoying Music in All Rooms
Simultaneously (Party mode)
Using the Party mode function, you can share the music
content among multiple Units simultaneously. You can
also exclude a selected room from the Party mode (Party
Privacy).
Source and play modes available in the Party mode are
the following:
NETWORK/MY MUSIC
CDs inserted into Units in which the Party Privacy is
set to off.
MP3-format music files stored on the hard disc drive
of a computer.
CD/DVD
CDs (when using a CDP-NW10)
CDs, Data CDs (MP3) (when using a DVP-NW50)
A device connected via LINE IN
Sound output from a device connected via LINE IN.
Tuner
A station currently tuning in.

Press MODE after selecting a source on the Home
Menu.
The Mode Menu appears.

Press the
PARTY
SELECT.
Party
appears on the right side of the top line on the
front panel display.
The Unit enters the Party mode, and music is output
to the rooms.
Tip
In the Party mode, some playback operations such as stop, play,
etc., are operable on all of the Units.
To cancel the Party mode
You can cancel the Party mode from any of the Units even
if the Unit is not in the Party mode.
Press the highlighted
PARTY
SELECT on the Mode
Menu using the same procedure you used when you
activate the Party mode.
e.g.
When you press MODE
while playing a CD.

(Party Privacy)
If you set the Party Privacy in a selected Unit, you can
operate that Unit individually even if other Unit is in the
Party mode.
