The bump guard does not have to be removed again. 11.3 Mounting and Removing a Deflector 11.3.1 Mounting the Deflector WARNING To reduce the risk of injury from thrown objects or contact with the cutting attachment, never operate the trimmer without a properly mounted deflector. Keep bystanders at least 50 ft. (15 m) away. When using a deflector designed for use with a PolyCut mowing head, you must change the deflector before mounting the mowing head. WARNING The cutting attachment and deflector must be an approved combination. Use only an approved combination of cutting attachment and deflector to maximize cutting performance and reduce the risk of serious personal injury from thrown objects or contact with the cutting attachment, @ 24.1. To mount the deflector: ► Switch off the trimmer, @ 14.2. ► Remove the battery, @ 13.2. 2 2 ► Push the deflector (2) into the guides on the housing until it stops. The deflector must be tight against the housing. ► Insert and tighten the screws (3). 11.3.1
Mounting the Deflector
WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury from thrown objects or contact
with the cutting attachment, never operate the trimmer
without a properly mounted deflector. Keep bystanders at

for use with a PolyCut mowing head, you must change the
